Recent weekend pics..I know...I know..I take a lot of pics.

Biiiiiiig deal...big bro asking if he could help feed little bro. We've had some um, "who's the biggest piece of cheese" stuff over here. So, it's always a big blessing to see them just loving each other. If Skye enters the room where Chase is and Skye doesn't acknowledge Chase, Chase will make noises and strain his neck until Skye comes over. Sometimes when Skye does go over to him and say hi, Chase grabs onto the hair on either side of Skye's head and pushes his mouth to Skye's face. He really, really loves Skye.. Oh, oh..Skye also does little concerts for Chase and gets Chase really laughing. then Skye says to me.. "you do it momma" and I say "no, he doesn't want me to do it, it's because it's YOU".
Had to include a shot of hottie.
Belly laughing..oh man!!
MMmmmm, good. The funny great thing about this shot is that now instead of oatmeal every morning, he wants tomato soup, as I was giving it to him while we were working on stealing money to buy groceries.

What I love about this shot is that he was irritated (big deal for Chase as he doesn't make but 3 peeps a week) that we stopped the swing to get me kissing him. I asked Alan (after we had taken one) how the pic looked and he said, "well, it's not professional..you're face is squished up, you can see the hair on your face..he's squinting because of the sun,etc..") So, that would pretty much answer my question, eh?

Pics of the last few days

finally i'll use the bjorn!! (thanks to susie for loaning it to me)

Odd Assortment of funny things from the mouth of Skye

1. "Momma, do you know what the oldest airplane of the world is? The boys who rode it in the old days were the 4 Cat Brothers..they rode the St. Indian Trophy.
2. Alan was looking at an awards catalogue trying to pick out a small gift (as a thank you for working for Encore for 3 years) Skye was sitting next to him and pointed to some jewelry and said, "that is a pretty thing. Don't get that dad, mans don't get prettys."
3. Skye had a piece of tape stuck to his hair after one of his projects. I asked him how a big piece of tape got in his hair. He says, "You don't want to know momma, it's a long story."
4. Skye said back to me after I asked him a question about a random thing.."you never know momma, you just never know."

Where do I start?

This past 2 weeks has been a lot about laundry, errands, wiping noses, up in the night, long naps in the afternoon for some and just off schedule-wise. I realize that my heart is not content. It's also been an emotional rollercoaster. I've walked through, just a little bit, the death of one son, the news of an exciting pregnancy, the turmoil of newborn premies, a friend's miscarriage, a couple more deaths and a sister who is not doing well. I'm overwhelmed by God's plan sometimes, honestly. Last night I had a dream that someone in our complex died and was lying on the road. Everyone came knocking on our door, trying to find out what to do. I'm overwhelmed with the amount of witnessing opportunities that I have, trying to find balance between being real and not being a nerd or further more, not turning them off to the gospel. I want so badly for these folks to know what it's like to have true hope. On the other hand, I'm barely being able to live out a life even remotely representing the gospel. I'm overwhelmed with grief for my friends and family members who are not walking close to the Lord and who have let circumstances and bad decisions guide them (partially me!).I'm overwhelmed with having to discipline my child 17 times in one afternoon.
I'm looking for a fresh experience and drink from my saviour today. Why do we suffer? Why do we make mistakes? Of course I don't need the theological answer. I'm going to turn to the passage in Romans.."I want to do what's right, but I don't."
I'm very grateful for medicine. I got on some antibiotics and for the first time in 3 1/2 weeks, guess what? I can sleep and breath and feel like I can live!! I guess I have a ragin sinus infection. I always feel when I go in, like they're all in the breakroom talking about how I'm such a wous and hypochondriac. So I was relieved to find that there was REALLY something wrong with me. Hee..I know..like my blog said, 'where do I start'? I'm such a mess!!
We've gone to SeaWorld and so I have some pics I hope to share. Thanks God for Seaworld..it's so much fun and so creative. Love you all. (all 2 of you who visit my blog)

Prayer

If you get to read this, pray right now. It's a selfish request..we're all sick over here. Alan is finally better, but the rest of us are really sick. Today was just a sad, hard day. I'm going to bed..not quite 8pm. Pray that this will go away. We've been sick now for 2 weeks.

Helping Momma Clean (2 1/2 years ago)

Just had to post a picture of him in the ol' days..as I'm having one of those "I could k____you out at any moment" days today. That's why this is a super private blog!! Isn't he so cute?? (the word to fill in, by the way, is "knock"~!!!!)

Sista, sista

Hey there all of you bloggers out there..ya you!!!
O.k. just got off the phone with one of my sistas, Lori. We laughed until we cried..especially at memories of old boyfriends and people that, if we met on the streets today, might not recognize us, due to weight gain and other abnormalities.
I'm so grateful for her. She is an encouragement to me right now. She has two boys, one is almost 3 and one is 1 1/2ish. AND, she is preg with her 3rd..she's doing great actually, just a bit of nausea all day (that's great for us Carlson girls). I just boxed up the last bit of maternity clothes for her. I cleaned out my closet while I was talking with her tonight..ya know--the mindless phone talking project..the one that doesn't have to be perfect that you can do while talking..NOT the project of "making a new recipe for the pastor and his wife" project. So, it was perfect. We got an hour of talking in and an hour of productivity. All we needed was a coffee with some Bailey's splashed in.
ON a completely different note, I'm completely done nursing my baby...oh man..hard to even type that! I will never nurse again!! ah!! I'm actually happy, but still a bit torn. But my kid is sleeping better, that's for sure!
Better sign off and go to bed. I've spent my time looking at the weather and my friend's blogs when I should have been sleeping!!
